The Home Screen
The home screen can be reached at any point by clicking the Activity Search tab in the top left hand corner of the screen.
The main sections of the page are the Activity Search box on the left, and the Category Icons on the right.
Activity Search Box
If you want to make a booking and know the activity provider, your first step would be to select them from the operator list and click ‘Go’. For the full booking procedure, see Making a Booking.
Regions
The operator list changes with the region selected, so you can find information and make bookings for operators all over the country or even overseas.
Operators are listed in any region that they either operate in or pick up from. For example, an operator running Milford Sound day trips from Queenstown will be visible in the regions Milford Sound, Queenstown, and Te Anau.
Category Icons
The colourful category icons provide an alternative method for finding operators or activities.
For more information, see Categories.
Header and Main Navigation Bar
The RTBS site header and Main Navigation Bar are present at all times while logged in. The current user, agency and location is displayed to the left of the header.
Main Functions
- Activity Search will return you to the home page.
- The Manage Records menu offers the search page 'Locate a Booking', and for Administrators also 'Users' (to create or update User IDs and Passwords).
- Help gives you a link to this Help Centre, or our contact details should you want to get in touch.
- The View Reports menu is only visible to Supervisor and Administrator logins. See the chapter Reports for more information.
Notification Banner
Occasionally the header will display a green notification banner, such as the one shown here.
These are messages from local activity providers or from RTBS system administrators that we believe are relevant to you - such as important system updates or new live activity operators. Click on the banner for more information.
Left Navigation Panel
Below the Activity Search box are links to create a Manual Booking or a Referral Voucher.
The Manual Booking function is useful for when you can’t find an operator in the system, to allow you to still make the reservation and create a ticket for your client.
The Referral Voucher is used when you make a reservation but don't know the final cost (so would never take payment) - such as when booking a taxi or a table in a restaurant. For more information see Manual Bookings & Referral Vouchers.
Show Live Operators in: New Zealand/Australia brings up a list of all operators who offer live inventory on RTBS, allowing booking agents to make confirmed bookings without having to call the booking through over the phone.
Please note, not all live operators will enable live booking for all of their activities, and most will apply a 'Call Period' which means that a call is required when making a booking close to the trip departure time (see the chapter on the Availability Tab for more information on 'Live' and 'On Call' activities).
