Troubleshooting: Incorrect or Missing Prices

If when making a booking, the prices listed for the operator are incorrect or out of date, or if the price type you want (i.e. Adult/Child/Family) is not listed, a simple tool in the TMO will help you complete the booking and ensure that the finished ticket accurately reflects the reservation made.

The following procedure explains where to find the tool and how it works.

Start the Booking process

Begin the booking process as you would normally; selecting the operator required, the activity, and the preferred departure time.

Once in the ticket screen, fill in the necessary fields, and then contact the operator to make the reservation.

Please note; it is very unlikely that incorrect prices will be listed for ‘live’ operators, but if you do believe their rates are wrong it is important that the operator is always contacted before you make a reservation at a different rate - do not change the price and save the live booking without speaking to the operator, or your agency may be liable to pay the difference for any mistakes.

The amendments to the price or price type are made at the ‘Select Booking Numbers’ section of the ticket screen.

Changing an incorrect price

If the unit type you wish to book is present but the price is wrong, simply overwrite the incorrect price with the correct figure and enter the units required:

The old price will be displayed to show that the price has been altered from what was stored in the system, and the program will ask the user to give a reason for the price change. The price change and reason given will be submitted to the system administrators so they can investigate the discrepancy.

Please note; this new price will only be applied to the booking in question, it will not be stored in the system until it has been verified and updated by the support team.

Adding a Missing Price Type

If the actual price type is missing, you will need to use the ‘Can’t find price?’ link to add it to the ticket.

Clicking this link will create a new price line, with blank ‘Description’ and ‘Unit Price’ fields.

Enter the name of the missing price type, the unit price, and the number of units required for the booking:

The system will ask you to enter a reason for the new price.

As with altering a price above; the change will not affect the information stored in the system for the activity or operator, but once the amendment has been made, RTBS support staff will investigate whether the new price type should be added as standard.

Complete the booking

The booking should be completed by taking and recording payments as normal and clicking the ‘Make Booking’ button at the bottom of the form.
