Gift Voucher Overview
The RTBS Gift Voucher module provides the activity operator with a personalised online gift voucher, along with 'Purchase' and 'Redeem' links which allow shoppers to buy vouchers online, and also enable the recipient to book themselves directly onto a trip using their gift voucher reference to confirm the booking.
The Gift Voucher design is developed from an image supplied by the operator, and includes the option for each buyer to add their own message, and preview the voucher before completing the purchase.

What Do I Need to Do?
Once you have signed up to the Gift Voucher module, please email through the following image files to help@whytewaters.com so that we can customise your gift voucher:

  • At least 1x landscape high resolution image of 200mm x 148mm (min 300dpi preferred)

  • Your logo as a vector file (eps, ai or pdf) or if vector is unavailable, a high resolution png or jpg file.

These images will be passed onto our graphic designer to create the voucher template. Once it has been created, you will be emailed a proof of the voucher for approval. If you have any requests for changes, these will be passed back to the designer to action.
If you prefer to supply a predesigned Gift Voucher Graphic Image from your own designer, please adhere to the following guidelines:
The Gift Voucher images should be 2222 x 1181 pixels but no more than 800kb file size and should include: At least 1 x landscape high resolution image at 200mm wide x 148mm high (minimum of 300dpi preferred) and Company logo. The Gift Voucher text will include the words "Gift Voucher" so we don't recommend this be included on the voucher image itself. A portion of the image (around a quarter of the total image size) will need to be light in colour to accommodate the black Gift Voucher text (recipient name, message, contact details etc). There is no fixed size for the writable box; when we upload we adjust the font size and test with a maximum length message to ensure the text all fits in. Please contact the Helpdesk for more details on the writable box dimensions to fit with your design layout.
Once the voucher has been completed, you will be emailed 'Purchase Gift Voucher' and 'Redeem Gift Voucher' link URLs that you will need to pass onto your website manager to have added to your website. These can be placed behind buttons similar to these :

What will the 'Purchase Gift Voucher' page look like?
The styling of the 'purchase' gift voucher page will be based on the styling of your RTBS website booking page. The user will be given a list of the activities that you have chosen to make available for gift voucher purchase.

On selecting their preferred activity, they are taken through to the purchase page where they choose the units they want to buy, and enter their contact details and those of the recipient. From here, they will go progress onto the payment gateway screen where they will need to confirm payment with their credit card to finalise the gift voucher purchase.

How will I know how many vouchers have been sold?
Within the RTBS Central Reservation System is a 'Search Gift Vouchers' function. This will show the operator the total number sold, along with details for each voucher such as whether it has been redeemed yet or not, the sender, recipient, value and expiry date.

How long are the gift vouchers valid for?
The default validity period is 12 months, but the operator can amend this to whatever they like. The period of validity is always a set number of months following the date of purchase. More settings including providing specific Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions can be configured for each activity available for Gift Vouchers: Main menu->Setup Your Activities>Activities> edit activity->sub menu Gift Vouchers [ ] Can be Gift Vouchered; [ ] Show T&Cs on Voucher etc.
How does the payment process work?
To purchase a gift voucher, the client will need to make full payment by credit card through the payment gateway. This money is paid into the operator's nominated bank account in the same way as any bookings collected through the payment gateway (web booking page, credit card online or PAYLINK).
