Time of Day Pricing

'Time of Day' pricing allows an RTBS Activity Operator to restrict a price so it is only available during a set period of the day. This option can be used to incentivise people to book onto less popular tour times, or to offer time-sensitive Price Types on the relevant trips (e.g. Picnic Lunches).




To activate 'Time of Day' pricing, head to Setup Your Activities → Price Schedules.


  • Click the Rate to access the Price Schedule.


If no time limitations are set, prices are available daily from 00:00 to 23:59.

  • To set a daily start time other than 00:00, tick 'Limit Time Valid From' and enter the time the rate should be available from.
  • To set a daily end time other than 23:59, tick 'Limit Time Valid To' and enter the latest time the rate should be available.

Time of Day Pricing FAQs: 

1. Can 'Time of Day' Pricing be used for 'On Demand' tours?

No, this option is only available for scheduled activities as the availability of the price is determined by the time slot.

2. Can I create multiple Price Schedules for the same Price Type?

Yes. For example, with 'Time of Day' pricing, you may want to link a standard Price Type, eg. 'Adult' to multiple Price Schedules that all run between the same start and end dates, but have different time period settings.

However, in general we would recommend that Price IDs are catered to inform the customer or booking agent as much as possible - so if you're offering a special price for particular time slots, create a Price Type with a Price ID that explains this (eg. "Adult - Off Peak special: 8am and 2pm only!") so the customer or booking agent isn't confused by the changeable rate they're seeing.
